Withholding tax is a success for 63% of French people

More than six in ten French people (63%) believe that the reform of the withholding tax is generally a success, shows an Odoxa-Dentsu Consulting survey for franceinfo and Le Figaro published on Thursday.

For a large majority of respondents (81%), the withholding tax levied on January 1, “went well” in their homes.

This observation is shared by the entire political spectrum, as well by supporters of La France insoumise (76% of them say that “it went well”) as well as those of the Republicans (88%) and the Rassemblement. national (80%).

Increased workload for companies

Some 56% of those questioned believe, however, that the measure has increased the workload of companies, 50% believe that it has “called into question the confidentiality of tax data and the private life of many French people”.

Half of those polled say they have a better idea of ​​their real purchasing power and less than a third (30%) believe that there have been a lot of mistakes on the part of businesses or the tax authorities.

The survey was carried out online on March 27 and 28 with a representative sample of 1,003 French people.
