Pensions: the inter-union calls for new actions on January 14, 15 and 16

The inter-union formed by the CGT, FO, CFE-CGC, FSU, Solidaires and youth organizations calls for new actions on January 14, 15 and 16 to obtain the withdrawal of the pension reform, a-t- she announced Thursday night to the press.

“We call for actions to be prepared for the 14th, 15th and 16th, the terms of which will be specified on Saturday evening depending on the success of (Saturday) 11”, a new date for inter-professional mobilization, said Eric Beynel, spokesperson for Solidaires , after a meeting that lasted more than four hours at the headquarters of Force Ouvrière.

An agreement was obviously difficult to reach between unions on the follow-up to be given to this mobilization launched on December 5, in particular in the choice of dates and modalities of action.

A day of demonstrations and massive mobilizations on Saturday

Thursday, during the fourth day of strikes and interprofessional demonstrations, the processions gathered 452,000 demonstrators according to the Ministry of the Interior, nearly 1.7 million according to the CGT, figures down compared to December 17.

The inter-union called for making next Saturday “a day of demonstrations and massive mobilizations”, on the evening of which it must meet again to decide the future of the movement.

In the meantime, she indicated her wish to make Tuesday 14 a “day of strikes and inter-professional convergence”, and announced initiatives declined “in all forms” Wednesday 15 and Thursday 16 January.

“See you again on Saturday. We must amplify the movement and define an effective strategy, it is not easy. Actions must gain momentum, other sectors must take over,” said Benoît Teste, secretary general of the FSU, the first trade union federation among teachers.
