EXCLUSIVE Coronavirus: the executive prepares an economic rescue plan worth more than 30 billion euros

The government should present this week a text concretizing the emergency economic measures promised by Emmanuel Macron last Thursday in response to the crisis caused by the coronavirus. The plan could represent an effort of between 30 and 40 billion euros, and the public deficit should therefore blithely cross the 3% of GDP mark this year.

Bercy ministers Bruno Le Maire and Gérald Darmanin (here last September) want to present the economic plan for responding to the coronavirus crisis this week.

If the Bercy teams remained confined all weekend as a large part of the French population was supposed to be, it was at their desks or behind their computer. The government wants to give shape very quickly to the emergency plan decreed by Emmanuel Macron to deal with the economic consequences of the coronavirus crisis, with the objective of presenting a text in the Council of Ministers this week, according to our information.

It will then remain for the National Assembly to vote these measures and this already worries the executive. Between the closing of the Chamber this week because of the municipal elections, and the sanitary instructions (no meeting of more than 100 people) in an enclosure where there are many contaminated, the vote of the legislation has nothing to do with it. ‘obvious.
